TurboWeb® Field Tests Exceed Performance Expectations

Midwesco Filter Resources’ range of TurboWeb® media have proven superior in laboratory tests and in side-by-side field tests at multiple sites in North America and Europe, where operational environments are a challenge.
CASE I
In coastal Florida, TurboWeb® filters were installed at one of the largest electric power holding company in the US.
Background: The filters were installed in a turbine, which had recently endured a hurricane. With eight turbines facing directly towards the incoming weather, the customer aimed for the highest level of turbine protection. After evaluating multiple filter products, TurboWeb® was chosen due to its high water breakthrough rating and efficient protection from salt water penetration into the turbine.
CASE II
TurboWeb® also proved to be the winning solution for a coastal refinery plant owned by a global top 5 energy company.
Background: Their base load turbine has been in service for many years and the non-stop supply of steam is critical to the refinery. On-site and third party lab testing underlined that by using TurboWeb®, the refinery benefitted from:
- no downtime and no water wash for up to one year
- no expensive oil refinery production downtime due to the loss of steam
CASE III
In the Southern US, a base-load combined cycle plant is gradually upgrading their filters from MERV 12-13 to TurboWeb® MERV 16 & E12 efficiency filters.
Background: The Company wanted to save fuel and pass on fuel savings to their customers in terms of reasonably priced electricity, thereby establishing sustainable customer satisfaction to both their industrial and residential customers. At present, the filter upgrades have resulted in extra 3 MW regained from the 171 MW turbine.

TurboWeb®-UE & XE are the highest efficiency E12/H12 pulse & static filter media on the gas turbine market with >99.5% efficiency on the most penetrating particle size. They offer exceptional HEPA efficiency and dust release due to their unique E-class membrane which removes submicron, dust, salt, water and hydrocarbon.
Our lab and field test shows that TurboWeb®-UE & XE eliminate the need for offline water wash in up to 2 years resulting in no down time for up to 8000 hours, recovery of up to 6 % power output and lower Total Cost of Ownership for our customers.

High Efficient alternative to HEPA: TurboWeb®-HE (Static)
TurboWeb®-HE is a cost effective static alternative to HEPA filter media. It is a MERV16 / F9 (EN779: 2012) filter class media with exceptional initial filtration efficiency of 94% for 0.3-0.4 microns particles equaling being up to 5 times more efficient than typical MERV 14 filter for 0.3 – 0.4 microns particles.
Its exceptional water and salt repellency efficiency prevent salt & water penetration and corrosion, resulting in less compressor fouling and less down time. Being a synthetic media, it offers a very low operational pressure drop throughout the filter life time practically eliminating the need for water wash and reducing maintenance costs.
