One of the biggest manufacturers of railway tracks in Europe had issues with two of their main dust collectors.
The problem was that irregular baffling in two dust collectors caused swinging of the 4 meter long filterbags. This resulted in holes in bags and thereby high emissions (higher than the 20mg/m3 set out by public authorities).
Solution was to change out the 960 4m long filterbags to 960 1,26m long pleated bags equipped with spunbond polyester with PTFE coating. The shorter filters removed the challenge with the swinging filters and the filter surface was increased by 10%. By increasing filtersurface customer will see longer lifetime of filters. At the same time the surface filtration media allows optimal dustrelease, keeping a lower dP for a longer time.
The emission issues was solved and the customer is satisfied with the solution.
